Dusit Thani Bangkok was home to the prestigious annual Thailand’s Best Sommelier competition this late June and early July. Talented sommeliers from around Thailand showcased their skills in front of a panel of judges.

This year’s winner is Chaiyaporn Phantuvadeethon, a sommelier at Dusit Thani’s D’Sens restaurant. Chaiyaporn had been a competition finalist for the past three years, and this year became one of three sommeliers in Thailand to be awarded the Certified Sommelier title from the court of Master Sommeliers Worldwide.

Winners were announced on July 1 at a glamorous wine tasting evening held at the Dusit Thani Bangkok, presided over by several dignitaries and diplomats. Over six hundred gathered in the Dusit Thani to enjoy live music, gourmet cocktails and select wines.
