WHY GO? On the second floor of Eight Thonglor,
Masala Art offers diners outdoor seating on a balcony
overlooking the bustling locale, as well as stylish indoor
seats speckled with burnt orange and mute brown
tones. The staff is well-versed on menu items and
impressively attentive to diners’ needs.
WHAT TO ORDER?
For those unfamiliar with Indian
cuisine, there are pictures of the dishes, along with
short descriptions in Thai and Japanese. Barra kebab
is seasoned lamb racks served with refreshing yoghurt
that complements the perfectly cooked lamb quite
well. Highly recommended is dahi ke kebab, deep-fried
mixed vegetables with a yoghurt centre, deliciously
crunchy and flavourful. Murgh patiala (Punjabi-style
chicken curry) is another favourite, although it can be
quite hot for those not used to Indian spices. Murgh
makhani (butter chicken) does not disappoint and
nor does rogani tikka (seasoned chicken skewers).
To accompany all these feisty dishes, try a generous
basket of warm naan. They also make their own
authentic Indian desserts so be sure to ask the waiter.
Masala Art’s wine list has a good number of reds and whites, even some
wines from India. Prices are around the 1,500-2,000 baht level.
