WHY GO? Indian Host is the perfect place to line your stomach before a heavy night’s drinking. The surroundings may be unpretentious but there is a solid selection of Indian food available as well as a handful of innovative Indian- Chinese fusion dishes.

WHAT TO ORDER? A Delhi chef oversees all preparation on the premises, much of it in a traditional clay oven to give it that unmistakable Indian flavour and mixed tandoori kebab platter is probably the optimum way to appreciate this. The Indian favourites which have made their mark on Britain are all here, with chicken korma, tikka masala and vindaloo all on offer as well as the Punjabi favourite chicken makhanwala. For those who are after a more authentically Indian experience there are a variety of mutton dishes. Vegetarians are well catered for and those who are not fans of conventional Indian food will appreciate the Indian-Chinese fusion menu which includes crispy chilli lamb and vegetable chilli garlic noodles.

There is a small selection of uninspiring wines on offer but you are better off sticking with the beer.
