WHY GO? Arirang, which means “dearly missed” or
“intimate love” in Korean, is a name that fits this eatery.
Clean, simply decorated, and with very attentive service
it is the perfect place to appreciate fresh and delicious
Korean dishes.
WHAT TO ORDER?
Arirang offers a great selection of
stews, soups, grilled meats, rice and noodle dishes and
other specialities. The unlimited addictive kim-chi and
various banchan (small side dishes) such as mashed
potatoes with strawberry sauce, crispy beans, deepfried
seaweed or small dried fish in sesame are served
free of charge. Try one of the traditional grilled meats
like the tasty grilled beef bulgogi and let the waitress
prepare it on the charcoal grill and show you the proper
way to enjoy it. Dolsot-bibimbap is another specialty:
rice is browned in seasame oil in a hot stone pot, while
the raw beef and egg on top gets cooked as it is stirred
in. For dessert, try the very popular red bean sherbet
topped with red bean paste, fresh fruits and sticky rice.
The selection of Korean
rice and berry wines are
definitively worth a try for their
attractive prices. Regular wine is
also available.
