The litmus test for any Japanese restaurant is whether the Japanese community in Singapore makes repeated visits to the establishment.
The litmus test for any Japanese restaurant is whether the Japanese community in Singapore makes repeated visits to the establishment. Going by the modern Japanese cuisine served the answer seems to be a resounding yes. The chef cleverly infuses local, Chinese and French touches to come up with unique flavours. Among them are the shabu-shabu salad, maguro carpaccio, or tuna sashimi, given a twist with deep-fried garlic slices, and the zuwai chanan. Another popular favourite is the grilled asparagus with melted blue cheese that is clearly French influenced and works surprisingly well. Fish lovers will enjoy the silver cod dish, gindara teriyaki. It also helps that the restaurant has a modern finish with high ceilings and giant TV screen for football fans. The ambience is decidedly masculine but private rooms and its glassy interior also make it suitable for family outings.
