From now till June, Boathouse, located at the historic Fullerton Waterboat House, will be dishing up their signature modern European cuisine in a special three-course business set lunch at $32 that allows you to mix and match the courses you'd like. Past evening, diners pick from two set dinner menus, including the four-course menu inspiration ($68) or the eight-course menu gourmand ($128).
Some highlights from the new menus include the grilled Norwegian scallops with ratte potatoes, saucisson and saffon emulsion, all of which come together to bring just the right amount of crunch from the potatoes to complement the melt-in-your-mouth scallops. Fish lovers won't want to miss the Saint Pierre, slow roasted in brown butter and paired with a seafood Béarnaise - it's truly a delightful dish as the combination of the tender John Dory with the flavours of the Béarnaise fills the palate with pleasure.
For diners who want to savour real flavour, the slow roasted landes poulet - a type of French chicken, with serves of both its succulent thigh and breast meat - is accompanied by crunchy little bites of the potato cous cous, which is the real surprise of the dish. Says the young but talented Executive Chef Jonathan Koh, "After my return from training in Europe, I wanted to showcase the wonderful ingredients from France and elsewhere that may not usually be available here." That is evident in his creation of chocolate tart with roasted plantain creameux, served with peanut butter marshmallow - the dish packs complementing ingredients without going over the top.
Creating its own buzz is the dessert degustation menu patisserie ($75) which includes six carefully crafted courses that starts from a zesty lemon parfait, to Malaga strawberries on lychee tiramisu, to the chocolate tart. Alternatively, guests who take the dinner menus will be offered a free platter of treats from the petit four trolley - which contains bon bons, chocolate truffles, ginger snaps, profiterole with hazelnut cream, handmade marshmallows, pistachiop meringue, salted caramel macarons, and the signature lemon pound cake. For a la carte diners, unlimited servings of petit four from the trolley is priced at $25.
