A chic Miami vibe resonates at this mini-getaway in Singapore. The slick bar and alfresco area have a touch of retro nautical appeal, and the pool looks inviting. Tanjong Beach Club's recently launched dining menu also captures this beach-essence in its seafood oriented fare. Created by Lo and Behold Group's consulting chef, Travis Masiero gives a wide selection of comforting bites with a lighter touch. The lobster and burrata cheese is a delightfully sinful starter, with its succulent lobster, creamy cheese bed and bursts of momotaro tomatoes. A refreshing gazpacho soup is available-a nice balance of tang and the natural sweetness of the tomatoes. Alternatively, a truffled corn chowder hits a homey spot, while appealing to our refined senses with avocado crème, scallop and espelette pepper.
The lobster pot pie is money well spent-a whole lobster is included, filled with locally grown vegetables in a lobster jus and cognac cream (though the dish is served in a pot topped with a crisp crust, rather than inside a puff pastry pie). For the more carnivorous eaters, the TBC USD A Strip loin is available, though it lacks a certain juice. But a dab of the smoked eggplant puree that is served on the side helps to fill in what's missing. Look out too for the fancy mac & cheese wonderfully topped with a broccoli puree. 120 Tanjong Beach Walk, Sentosa, Tel: 6270-1355
