On busy nights, lively groups and the clatter of dishes keeps this cosy eaterie bustling.Freshness often makes up for the food's plain presentation, so this is the place for functional, fuss-free dining. The interesting menu lists as many as 150 dishes, from light appetisers of seaweed, tuna and tofu to grilled lamb yaki. As the charcoal grill is the house speciality, there is a variety of delicious flamed items, including karubi gyu (beef short ribs), tsukune (chicken meat balls) and asparagus-wrapped pork. Swordfish, yellow tail, salmon and tuna are among the seafood choices. When the opportunity presents itself, live sea urchin is offered. This Japanese delicacy is prized for its chewy texture and distinctive creamy taste. Desserts include an excellent citron sorbet, sesame ice cream and, for the adventurous, cheese with pickled bean paste.
