Screening Room, a combination concept inspired by owner Samia Ahad’s love for film and food, has just revamped its menu. Screening Room’s Chef Andy Lau prepares platters and tapas based on Spanish, Greek and Indian cuisine. There’s no need to dread soggy spring rolls and overly salted wings on these generous platters. The Mezze Platter includes delectable yogurt dips served with naan, chicken tikka (based on restaurant Coriander Leaf’s popular recipe) and curried potato in mini-puris. The Spanish Platter features addictive stuffed mussels (mejilones rellenos tigres), gooey ham croquettes and a sample size of hearty Spanish lentil soup.
For the burger aficiando, Screening Room offers a wagyu beef burger prepared with a medley of spices, a tandoor chicken burger with mint chutney and a warm grilled Portobello mushroom with goat cheese as the vegetarian option. For the indecisive, there is also a slider platter offering the three burgers in miniature form. For a full plate, the Danish “hake” fish is a tower of soft fork-tender fish encrusted with potatoes—it makes for a colourful dish with a topping of citrus fruit salsa, trout roe and cress. Screening Room offers a spin on classic desserts such as a saffron crème brulee, but if you want a light delicious finish, try the mahalabia—a yogurt crème with pistachios, candied ginger and pomegranate molasses.12 Ann Siang Road, Tel: 6221 1694
