Savour a taste of Hoi An at The Gardens

From 8 to 12 February, The Garden plays host to Vietnamese guest chef, Ms Trinh Diem Vy. A third generation chef, Ms Vy grew up in the kitchen of her parents and grandparents. Today, she is a familiar face in Vietnam's culinary scene and recognised for her accomplishments as a chef, restaurateur and cookbook author. During her stint at The Garden, she will give diners a chance to savour authentic Vietnamese cuisine and also dish out a tip or two at her cooking classes.

For the opening gala dinner (8 February), dine on a six-course menu comprising of sweet and sour river trout soup, papaya salad, rice paper rolls with pork and prawns, stir-fried green beans with jicama, clay pot pork belly and shrimp and stuffed squid with glass noodles and minced pork. Alternatively, opt for the six-course farewell gala dinner (11 February) coloured with more authentic flavours of Hoi An. Highlights include dishes such as prawn and mango salad; barbequed chicken and Tahitian lime leaf skewers; and stir-fried morning glory.

Ms Vy will also conduct two cooking classes (9 - 10 February), showcasing her winning ways with stuffed squid, fish in banana leaves, crispy Hoi An pancakes and more.

To make a reservation, call 6371 1130 or email thegarden@thesentosa.com. An early bird discount of 15% is applicable for bookings and pre-payments made before 15 January 2012. The Garden is located at 2 Bukit Manis Road. For more information, please visit www.thegarden.sg.
