Inspired by the traditional izakaya (Japanese-styled pub), the interior of Satsuma Shochu Dining Bar is both intimate and warm. But that's not all. This two-storey, 70-seater restaurant also has a menu that will definitely whet your appetite.
Satsuma specialises in Japanese charcoal-grilled items and the babe gyu (premium Black Angus rib eye) is simply to die for. Soft, tender and delightfully rich with the natural flavour of quality beef, it's one dish not to be missed. If you like seafood, the unagi or eel is a crowd-pleaser. For something that's both healthy and tasty, the hamachi (yellow tail fish) salad will definitely leave a smile on your face.
Other favourites include the sanma ume maki (mackerel rolled with plum), mentaiko doufu (soyabean curd topped with spicy cod roe) and the sasami ume (chicken fillet with plum).
Besides food items, the Satsuma is also famous for their shochu. A distilled alcoholic beverage made from sweet potato, rice, barley and other ingredients, it's a drink that's widely popular in Japan. With more than 100 types of shochu to choose from, you'll definitely find the perfect one for your palette. Sake, red and white wines are also available.
