Red House Seafood Restaurant, which is one of Singapore’s oldest seafood setups since it opened its doors in 1976, has designed a menu of seafood treats and special reunion sets to usher in the year of the tiger. Tuck into the treasure pot of auspicious delights that include abalone, sea cucumber, dried oysters, live prawns, fresh scallops, and more. Each order comes with complimentary salmon yu sheng and lotus rice for both dine-in and takeaway. While traditional favourites such as yu sheng and fried rice wrapped in lotus leaf rule the menu, no meal here would be complete without ordering the crab. Skip the chilli and pepper crab, and opt for the miso crab, which is not on the menu. Each bite unleashes an almost light and salty taste that complements the savoury texture of the flesh, which only leaves you craving for more. Red House’s reunion set dinner menus are available on the eve of Chinese New Year and from the second day and thereafter. 15 February to 28 February 2010. They are priced from $218 for 4 persons and range from $498 to $1,398 for 10 persons.
