Fine dining has taken on a whole new different meaning now that new kid on the block Private Affairs has opened, of all places, in Joo Chiat. For residents living in the east, Chef Paul Ng prepares only modern European cuisine but with a touch of Asian flavours. What makes the restaurant a “private affair” is that the chef keeps things intimate and creates only two dinner menus every week - a five-course menu at $138 and a seven-course menu at $168. Diners will not get to choose their meal, but the restaurant assures a pampering experience at the hands of the chef, who excels in Thai and Chinese cooking. Customers can also expect to see favourites such as Wagyu beef, duck and a variety of game on his menu. Chef Paul has worked Chef Justin Quek at Les Amis and in the kitchens of two restaurants in the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai – Al Mahara Restaurant with Chef William Girard and Al Iwan Restaurant with Chef Warren Brown.
