OTTO Ristorante, conveniently located in the Tanjong Pagar CBD district, is especially popular with executives and professionals through the week, and diners can now catch Chef Michele Pavanello's summer menu that will be at the restaurant till September.
Walking into the restaurant, the surprise is how quickly the noise level can escalate - the décor and food are a great match for business meals but lengthy discussions might need to be taken elsewhere. The service is prompt, however, and the overall experience is pleasant. For Pavanello's summer menu, he uses seasonal ingredients imported directly from Europe, and features seafood fare such as seared amberjack and a duo of seared langoustine with "Allegrini" Lake Garda olive oil.
A few long time favourites are included on the menu, including the chef's version of crispy suckling pig, drizzled with acacia honey and balsamic vinegar. The pan-seared foie gras is another summer menu delight with its sweet port caramelized apples to match. A 5-course degustation menu ($88) and a Gourmet menu ($128) that include these dishes are available.
