In conjunction with the World Gourmet Summit 2010, Conrad Centennial Singapore is pleased to welcome one of Spain’s rising culinary stars — Dario Barrio at Oscar’s from 12 to 18 April 2010. Born in 1972, Barrio started his development as a chef at a professional cooking school at the age of 14, combining it with his internship in renowned restaurants in Madrid, Santander, Las Palmas. He continued his training working for prestigious restaurants in Madrid, San Sebastian, Gerona, Burdeos, Londres, to name a few. In 2004, he opened his restaurant Dassa Bassa in Madrid, located at the elegant quarter of Salamanca, in an old Charcoal Warehouse from the XIX century, restored by his siblings Hector and Silka. He collaborated as a guest chef in several national events and places worldwide such as Asti (Italy), Berlin (Germany), Toronto and Montreal (Canada), Belo Horizonte (Brazil), Miami, Dallas and Fortworth (USA) etc. So, if you're a fan of Catalonian cuisine, you can look forward to indulge in an exquisite degustation menu, featuring some of chef Barrio’s signature creations as well as delicious a la carte selections, which include Seafood ‘Salpicón’ (seasoned cold dish) with Carrot Foam; Fruit Salad and Vanilla Cream Volcano with Dry Ice; ‘Buñuelo De Viento’ (fritter) stuffed with Chocolate Cream and ‘Fabada’ (stew) with ‘Compango’ (pork belly).
