Kinki is striking and their funky attitude doesn’t stop with their namesake. The first impression after stepping into the Japanese restaurant is an expansive floor mural by Miami Ink’s Chris Garver and playful drawings along every wall. A prime spot along Marina Bay, Kinki sheds the idea of formality and brings in the fun.
 
Co-owned by founder of Mimolette, Karean Seah explains that she wants patrons to have a “surprise” every step of the way in Kinki.  The hip restaurant does just that with its fare, with non-traditional Japanese offerings.  A notable dish is the bold Foie Gras and Hokkaido Scallop Sushi —an unexpected combination and a delight on the palate. The Kinki style Okonomikyaki on the other hand is a strange reinterpretation.  Similar to a pizza, the baguette based Kinki-version is topped with Hokkaido scallops, prawns, bacon and mozzarella.  The Hong Kong native chef also tags on special items of the week depending on his daily inspirations and what is seasonal.

The restaurant has a whole new vibe at night, with energetic music and a spectacular view of the Marina Bay from their wall to wall windows. The lights dim and the murals and drawings seem to glow. Premium sakes and Japanese-inspired cocktails begin rolling out, while the attractive young crowd mingle amongst themselves with Kinki’s creative sushi options.
