After opening in November 2009, the eatery has unveiled three new dishes from Chef Donald Tan, who was previously with the Michelangelo's Group of Restaurants. Inspired by owner Ornella Farago's Southern Italian recipes, Chef Donald has revealed the beef ragu pasta, squid ink seafood pasta and the Parma Scarmoza.
There are so many different variations of pasta that you can put together, but the trick to making one that keeps you coming back for more is all in the balance of flavours. The beef ragu pasta combines the oh-so-tender beef shanks with a tomato-based sauce. It's neither too heavy, especially for a meat like beef, nor too light that you don't feel satisfied. The Parma Scarmoza had the right balance between the saltiness of the ham and the smooth creamy texture of the cheese, so easy to eat it's not difficult to finish off a plate by yourself! The squid ink seafood pasta is decent, but pales in comparison to the more flavourful beef ragu.
Of course, you can't have an Italian meal without ending it with a lovely dessert. Incontro has more than eight to choose from - chocolate lovers will want to lap up the lava cake served with vanilla gelato.
