Heritage-the North Indian Cuisine uprooted itself from its Bukit Timah location to Copthorne Orchid Hotel at Dunearn road in September this year. But its promise of authentic Indian food continues to draw crowds with its affordable prices and all-new posh interior. Try the non-vegetarian platter of chicken, fish, lamb and prawn chunks marinated and cooked in a tandoor oven for a good introduction to North Indian cuisine. It is served as individual portions to ensure you have space for the mains. Each piece, especially the fish, is tender, fresh and moist, and the distinct flavour of the meat made more robust with the accompanying mustard dip. Another must-try is the jackfruit cooked with Indian spices, which scores for its delightful combination of the delicate sweet taste of unripe jackfruit and the subtle spices of Indian herbs. A dinner for four costs a reasonable $120.
