Step into a world of vibrant and warm Japanese dining at the newly opened Enmaru at the Laguna National Golf and Country Club. Decked in wood tones, the restaurant echoes traditional accents of izakaya restaurants, hugely popular in Japan among businessmen who seek a rustic, lively dining atmosphere.
Helmed by veteran izakaya restaurant chef Yoshibaru Inoue who focuses on fresh local ingredients and modern interpretations of traditional Japanese cuisine, the restaurant boasts a menu that proffers traditional dishes such as mizudako (smoked octopus) and mentai dashimaki (Japanese omelette with cod fish roe and cheese) alongside creative bites such as kaki kinoko (oyster wrapped with bacon tempura) and mochi chicken pizza (pizza with rice cake and teriyaki chicken). Izakaya classics such as sashimori, chawanmushi and gobokara (deep-fried burdock) are mainstays on the menu, as are a range of wines, whiskies and shochu.
