Daniel Boulud has certainly brought a slice of The Big Apple to The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands through his newly launched db Bistro Moderne that evokes a traditional bistro-style reminiscent of NYC. The French style menu presents a wide selection of starters including the popular charcuterie platter (great for sharing) as well as the beet cured salmon, a refreshing combination of thick slices of salmon, roasted beets, horseradish cream and candied walnuts.

The main courses are lovely: lamb with couscous, barramundi grenobloise, traditional coq au vin, duck confit, and more. Of which, the hearty coq au vin stood out for its tender chicken meat combined with a tasty gravy accompanied with wild mushroom, pearl onion, and bacon. The Original db Burger is a delight for gourmet burger fans who enjoy freshly ground beef in their burgers. The beef surrounds a centre of red wine braised short ribs, foie gras and black truffle – sandwiched between house-baked Parmesan buns.

The sweet-toothed will find more reasons to head back here for the luscious desserts. Chocolate and coffee lovers will adore the indulgent profiteroles au café drizzled with melted chocolate.
