What are Brigadeiros?

Dear Editor,

What are Brigadeiros?

Brigadeiros are chocolate-based treats that were first invented in the 1940s Brazil. It was named after an unsuccessful presidential candidate Air Force Brigadier Eduardo Gomes. These chocolate candies have since become very popular in Brazil and Portugal like the mochi in Japan. You can make one by mixing butter, sweetened condensed milk, and cocoa powder together; put the mixture in a heated pan over a stove to get that smooth and sticky texture. Shape into balls and roll them in granulated chocolate.
