The rare 1985 Vosne-Romanée premier cru and 1979 Richebourg from Henri Jayer's private cellar are only among the 98 lots that will be auctioned off on February 10 at Christie's Hong Kong in Central. The auction is poised to fetch over HK$19 million.
Although untrained, the late French winemaker was among one of the most important winemakers in Burgundy in the '70s and '80s, claiming his fame from making Clos Parentoux. With a small yearly production long a frustration for private collectors and enthusiasts, Henri Jayer's rare wines will give Christie's 2012 auction a flying start.
