The Epicurean Express: Pecan Pie

Chef Mark Bannon of The Langham demonstrates how to prepare a classic American Thanksgiving pecan pie

As Thanksgiving approaches, a lot of us are starting to prepare for our annual Thanksgiving feast. One of the best parts of Thanksgiving are the sweet and delicious pies we get to indulge in. To get a head start in the festive preparations, we head to the American restaurant, Main St. Deli at The Langham in Tsim Sha Tsui, to learn how to make the perfect pecan pie.

In this week's video, executive chef Mark Bannon of The Langham walks us through the step of making the scrumptious pecan pie with tips on making the perfect sweet pastry, a little trick to remove the pie from the pan without damaging the pie and suggestions on how to serve the pie.

Ingredients:

Sweet pastry
125g plain flour
55g Unsalted Butter
40g Caster Sugar
1 egg

Filling
10g butter
8g sugar
14g Plain Flour
1 pinch salt
330g glucose
1 egg
15 pecan (half crushed)
