A gourmet supermarket packed with luxury and imported goods with many products from Europe, US and Japan. A godsend to expatriates missing their home comforts, there are several sections dedicated to cuisine styles including an Italian aisle, with an excellent selection of dried pasta, and a US aisle with everything from Heinz sandwich pickle to Reese's peanut butter cups. There is also good fresh produce section with an excellent variety of fresh herbs and organic fruit as well as a meats and cheese counter and a bakery. The wine and spirits area has a broad selection of wines with very knowledgeable staff. You can expect to pay a premium for the excellent service and imported produce.

Classified

Classified is a cheese and wine specialist attached to The Press Room restaurant. It features Asia's only temperature and humidity controlled cheese room. There is a deli counter with a huge range of international meats and condiments, exclusive gourmet brands of olive oil, honey, jam chocolate and shortbread as well as a wine selection of New World and Old World wines. Customers can choose from a wide variety of cheese and charcuterie platters to try in the attached café and enjoy an extensive range of wines by the glass. This rustic and cosy cafe also serves cold cuts, salads and sandwiches. Prices range from $59 for 100 grams of a standard English cheddar to $85 for 100 grams of the famous and unusual Stinking Bishop cheese. Staff are warm, welcoming and clearly passionate about their products.

Goodwell Gourmet Shop

While there is no fresh produce at these small gourmet shops, there is a good selection of luxury canned goods and wine. A well-established company, Goodwell supply products to many of Hong Kong's five-star hotels and restaurants as well as several airlines. The retail shops focus on high-end Italian and American products with a good range of specialty cooking ingredients including flavorings, essences and dried herbs and nuts. There is also an excellent selection of Italian wines. Prices are extremely competitive with a good bottle of Morettoni Rosso costing around $80. The staff are helpful.

Great

A huge food hall in the basement of Pacific Place that has one of the widest selections of international luxury food products in Hong Kong. There are 14 food zones including counters for cheese and charcuterie, seafood, sushi and sashimi, bread and sandwiches, ice cream, olive oil and vinegars as well as a Mediterranean deli and a meat and rotisserie area. There is also an attached bistro for those customers who cannot wait until they get home and an attached Watson's wine cellar. Great has an impressive array of additional customer services including free home delivery, free parking, free gift wrapping, and a chef consultation service where a trained professional will give you advice on hosting dinner parties. Expect to pay a premium for the good service and quality of the produce. Great prides itself on having efficient, polite staff.

Il Bel Paese

Il Bel Paese imports fresh groceries and delicatessen items directly from Italy. It offers specialty produce such as San Daniele ham, Sardinia mature goat cheese, extra virgin olive oil, traditional balsamic of vinegar of Modena and cantucci biscotti. There is also a small selection of air-flown fruits and vegetables, including porcini mushrooms and truffles. A wide range of Italian wines and Sicilian cassate ice-cream is also available. All three shops are decorated to resemble a traditional Italian local store. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about food and wine.
