Setting
Given Tosca’s 102nd floor perch in the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong and two-storey floor-to-ceiling windows, it goes without saying that the view over Hong Kong Island is spectacular. And yet, the vista doesn’t dominate the room to quite the extent one might expect, due largely to the sizeable chandeliers and impressively sculpted water features that vie for guests’ attention. The plainly appointed white-clothed tables offer an effective contrast to the glitz, while seating is chunky and comfortable. There’s also an open kitchen at which to view the small platoon of chefs beavering away on their intricately wrought creations.

Food
The menu here is briefer than one might expect, but still manages to encompass a reasonably broad spectrum of updated southern Italian classics with an emphasis on seafood. The presentation, meanwhile, is delightful throughout. Roasted pigeon, white peach and foie gras (HK$260) makes for a pleasingly pungent appetiser, the rich and juicy flesh of the bird given license to shine thanks to expert preparation. For something a touch lighter on the palate, Alaska king crab, avocado and cous cous salad with Sorrento citrus (HK$320) offers a refreshing and zesty option. To follow, there is a choice of seven pasta dishes and six entrees: three fish and three meat. It’s hard to fault the grilled Mediterranean sea bass (HK$420), the succulent cut of fish served on a bed of crushed potatoes, Pachino tomatoes and black olives. Lamb chops (HK$420) are generously proportioned, cooked to a tee, and crusted with a layer of pistachio to bring out the best in the meat. The accompanying Jerusalem artichoke puree offers a subtle counterpoint that balances the dish nicely. If you’re lucky, the chef may whip you up a special dessert sampler, but if not the Tosca tiramisu (HK$90) should satisfy even the most discerning of sweet tooths.

Wine
As you might guess from the seemingly never-ending racks of bottles displayed behind glass on your way in, the wine selection here is extensive. The list of Italian reds is exceptional, while you’ll also find some big vintages from France, not to mention some intriguing new world picks. There’s also an impressive 28 tipples available by the glass.

Service
Ritz-Carlton hotels have a hard-earned reputation for excellent service, and Tosca is no different. As well as being diligent, the staff knows the menu inside out, and is confident making recommendations.
Price
A three-course meal with service costs about HK$900, not including wine. The million-dollar view comes at no extra charge.

I have dined at Tosca several times, but today was by far my most memorable experience. I did not write reviews on my previous visits, because i allowed the restaurant to gather momentum and try on it's new shoes (so to speak) and get to where I knew it could be. Many customers comment on the poor service at Tosca...go back again, and see for yourself what a good management team can accomplish. Service is now much more attentive, without being interruptive or annoying. Service is readily available and quick to make customers feel comfortable and very well taken care of.
Food always so good and tasty has been since the opening.
Enjoy Tosca i love it

I was surprised at the size of the dish, as the pile of pasta looked pretty filling. The taste was disappointing to say the least.

Service was good, the staff are friendly and helpful. Cool new look of Ritz Carlton.Congratulation for all great job to this restaurant.

We had dinner at Tosca. Fantastic food, fantastic service the only let down was the constant assault of flashes from cameras overhead due to the restaurants location.
Great i will be back.

Very friendly waiters, entertaining to say IT THE PLACE to be in HK.
The food was excellent and tasty. Great value. Great service. Great atmosphere. Ideal for couples, families or even eating on your own. If seeing a show I recommend coming here first, makes the night even more special. Will definately be going back, as soon we coming back .

It being a business lunch, I decided to forego the appetizers and began with Tagliatelle with red shrimp, wide strips of pasta in a gentle sauce. They were quite tasty, with the meat nicely balanced by the spicing of the sauce, which also had a peppery tang to it.My partner hd the citrus risotto with blue lobster…Great flavor…Great Service and Great view

recently had a business lunch, which began with a flute of spumante (dry) to accompany the tomato terrine with anchovies we nibbled on while browsing the menu. We settled on sharing a pair of appetizers. One was insalata di lenticchie, a delightful and extremely interesting lentil salad seasoned with shallots, fennel and lemon and octopus a combination that was quite good. Love it

I chose the 6-course tasting menu. As a pre-starter,sent by the chef, my tastebuds were treated to a dish simply called Capuccino di Parmigiano. It is served in a capuccino cup, and has a beautiful creamy white color. Upon giving it a stir, I came to discover that there was tomato, onions and guanciale on the bottom (otherwise known as amatriciana). This capuccino embodied the creaminess of the parmigiano (the white foam at the top) and made an absolutely delicious treat. I would already go back, just to have this delicacy again.
Must try so good

We went for our 35th wedding anniversary. We have dined at some of the finest restaurants all over the world, and this one was easily among the best ever.

Food: Pasta was perfect. Cuttlefish was amazing. Lots of interesting and tasty treats in between courses: fresh figs and melon terrine, candied mandarin oranges.Special extra veergin lemon olive oil which was delicious.

Overall: High quality sustained throughout the entire meal.
Mustcome here for the food and not the view

Once you get there, you're in for a treat: Hearty South of Italy fare, with rich pasta and innovative soups such as yellow neapolitan soup to start you off (after the appetizers), as well as lighter dishes such as tagliolini con limone. The second courses are excellent; the restaurant is famous for itthe quality of the food and chef special menu.
The desserts are the damnation of the dieter: Beautiful done, and so delicious you'll want more. The baba with gelato, raisins and chilled cream liberally sprinkled with bits of croccante, is heavenly on a summer day.Service very professional and warm.

The encounter of location, service and tasting is simply unique and enhance the romance of this prime view location.
While you savor the alchemy created in the extra-big super-clean and efficient kitchen run by the experienced Italian chef, you can relax in the stylish lounge where art pieces make you good company. The ingredients are carefully sourced among the freshest (good results always come with good choices) and prepared to provide authentic but sophisticated southern italian food. The chef often comes in the restaurant to ascertain customer’s satisfaction, sharing tricks and treats from the kitchen
Thanks Great Chef at Tosca and Handsome italian

My comparison...

My wife and I always stay at the Ritz. Their resraurant is the only other 5 Star in the city. While their food is good their service is pretentious. Their staff make us feel that they are quite above it all.

In our view the dining experience at Toscais truly the finest we have found in the world..."
Tosca is by far the finest dining experience my wife and I have had in Hong Kong area. We recently went for the fourth time. The food is always elegantly prepared and presented. Brunch it's pretty fantastic for what you get.
The service is the most professional yet attentive (but not overbearing!) you will find anywhere.

Listen to this I finally got the reservation and it was great to be here, so full this place since the opening
With Stone-burning ovens, the chef creates high-special bread and Italian specialties, including a special starter with porcini mushrooms
A large communal table centers the artsy main corners, and a lux private room.
My wife loved the mediterranean cod fish ,the scialatielli nice touch.
I'll be back.
Smooth service, thank you to take me to the Ritz

I had a nice evening at Tosca. It was refreshingly and crowded. That was a nice change-up. Initial plans for a drink turned into several drinks over an enjoyable dinner. After a reasonable wait, we got a table in the corner dining area.
My companion described the Pappardelle Genovese ragu ,which is right up . The ragu, as promised, had a very delicious and strong flavor. But it worked very well. It's a fairly straightforward dish, but it was done well, and certainly the homemade paste was al dente. So much improvement already since before.
A trip to Tosca has come to be a pretty reliable win. I enjoy the atmosphere, the staff is friendly, and the food is pretty good.
