Simple wooden interiors create a soothing ambience. A wonderful view of Victoria Harbour accompanies patrons while they dine. Due to the restaurant’s overwhelming success, Rei Sushi will shortly move to larger premises within IFC on Level 2, Shop 2076.

Rei Sushi boasts of a nice range of Japanese cuisine from tempura to stewed dishes to grilled dishes, but it is the sushi and sashimi that shine. The Rei assorted sushi platter comprises nine kinds of sushi along with a sushi roll is very fresh and of good quality. The toro melts in the mouth while the seaweed in the uni and ikura sushi roll that is very crisp (often a deal breaker when reviewing sushi). The restaurant obviously prides itself on presentation, as each dish is decorated like an art piece. The assorted tempura when compared to the sushi and sashimi is slightly disappointing. While the batter is light and the tempura not too oily, the prawns taste a tiny bit bland. For desserts, you can choose either ice-cream or traditional Japanese mochi.

Wait staff are friendly and polite. Service is efficient.
