Setting
Located on the first floor of the Royal Garden hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, Inagiku is decorated with dark wood interiors, traditional Japanese table settings and complete with an eye-catching fish tank. Tables are reasonably spaced apart for those looking to keep their dinner conversations private. Patrons also have the choice to dine at the sushi bar, tempura bar or teppanyaki bar instead of the main dining room.

Food
The menu is extensive with a heavy focus on sushi, teppanyaki and tempura items. The assorted sashimi is fresh and served on crushed iced to keep chilled with freshly ground wasabi and the portion is perfect for two people to share. The assorted tempura is to-die-for with the perfectly crispy batter and fresh ingredients used, particularly tasty are the shrimp and pumpkin tempura pieces. Another good dish is the US Angus beef ribeye teppanyaki, which is cooked to retain the juices and flavours of the meat. If your stomach is still craving more, opt for one of the chazuke rice dishes, with a choice of salmon, raw cod fish roes, plum or seaweed. The rice is delivered to your table with a separate teapot filled with the soup for you to add to your rice according to your liking. The soup and rice are light but well seasoned. For dessert, diners have a choice of ice cream (with varying flavours) or freshly cut fruit.

Wine
The wine list is extensive, as diners can order from the Royal Garden Hotel’s master wine list, and prices per bottle range from HK$300 to HK$30,000. There is also a large sake list and guests are offered different cups of shapes and sizes to choose from when the sake is served.

Service
The service was disappointing for a restaurant serving such exquisite food. The food arrived quickly, however the staff were not confident with making menu suggestions, it was difficult to get the attention of staff and tea was not refilled unless asked.
Price
Dinner for two might run about HK$800 per person and up including sake and wine.
