The Langham, Hong Kong's June Events

The Tsim Sha Tsui hotel hosts a number of exciting culinary happenings this month

For the month of June, there are lots of exciting things going on at The Langham in Tsim Sha Tsui. First up is a Red Heads Studio wine dinner for oenophiles on June 24. Red Heads Studio is a winery located in McLaren Vale in southern Australia and are known for their artisan and whimsically-named wines with yearly limited production. These boutique wines are a rare find, which is why this wine dinner at The Bostonian extra special. The six-course dinner priced at HK$738 (+10%) includes the following pairings:

- home-smoked salmon with asparagus flan and horseradish cream paired with the 2010 Yard Dog White

- pepper-crusted beef carpaccio with anchovy aioli with the 2009 Yard Dog Red

- tuna belly with tomato-olive farfalle pasta with the 2008 Barrel Monkeys

- Scotch quail egg with capers and gherkin salsa paired with the 2006 Esule

- Braised Australian beef cheek with the 2007 Whip Hand

- raspberry meringue pie with blackberry ice cream

Dinner will start at 7.30pm with guest speaker Alex Chan, Senior Sommelier from the HK Sommelier Association, presenting the wines.

T'ang Court

Over at the two Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant, T'ang Court, executive chef Siu Hin Chi is hosting a lobster and white asparagus promotion for the month of June. This month's specialities include:

- fresh whole abalone with white asparagus and jelly fish (HK$240)

- diced garoupa with egg, asparagus and beancurd soup (HK$160)

- stir-fried sliced lobster and conch with stewed lobster head and claw in chicken broth (HK$880)

- steamed sliced lobster with egg white and hua diao wine (HK$680)

- fried noodles with lobster, preserved vegetables, black bean and chilli (HK$700)

Main St. Deli

For more casual dining, we love the New York-style Main St. Deli in the Lower Lobby. Our favourites include the pastrami on rye and the difficult-to-find chicken soup with matzoh balls. We are also enjoying the daily specials board, offering a different taste of the Big Apple every day.

From now until the end of July, guests can enjoy 15% off for lunch and dinner at T'ang Court and 15% off for lunch at Main St. Deli if they present the printed version of this page. The offer is valid until July 31 and the discount applies only to a maximum of 24 guests per meal. It also does not apply to service charge and cannot be used in conjunction with other promotions.
