So it is the week before Valentine's Day and after placing a few phone calls to some of the best restaurants around Hong Kong, Asia Tatler Dining can confidently tell you that if you haven't got a table by now, you are (pardon our French) screwed. Luckily, Asia Tatler Dining is here to help.
We have not only secured reservations for two lucky couples at The Pool at The Peninsula and The Island Shangri-La's Lobster Bar, but we are actually treating them to dinner!
Our first is at The Pool at The Peninsula, an exceptionally popular and beautiful venue that is always booked out weeks in advance every year. The exclusive poolside terrace is open to the public only once a year and this year, the five-course dinner (valued at HK$2,788) includes:
- goose liver and mushroom terrine with champagne jelly
- fish veloute with shrimp and lemon confit
- oxtail raviolo with balsamico jus
- Kurobuta pork mignon with truffle and pig's trotter or pan-fried John Dory and bay scallop
- lemon cake with hibiscus poached raspberries
The second table is at the Lobster Bar and the four-course menu (valued at HK$2,688) includes:
- a combination starter of terrine and pan-fried duck liver with sauterne wine jelly
- Atlantic turbot and sea crab bisque
- oven-roasted prime beef fillet with champagne cabbage and red wine sauce
- heart-shaped raspberries with Guanaja chocolate and soft caramel
