Jaa Kitchen Opens
A new restaurant by the people behind Jaa Bar opens in Central |
Opened by the same people behind the hip Jaa Bar is Jaa Kitchen, a new intimate dining space just off Peel Street in Central.
We took a look at the European comfort food menu and already spied a number of items we want to try, including an appetiser of warm paprika salmon with truffle vinaigrette; and soft shell crab with sweet corn and Thai bitter gourd. Mains are meat-heavy with a roasted spring chicken; pork loin; wagyu minute steaks; and a delicious sounding wagyu burger topped with manchego, onion jam and chorizo.
Open all day, a Jaa Bites menu is served during the afternoon between lunch and dinner as well as late night from 11pm. The menu includes mini pork neck sandwiches; fried Yunnan ham and shrimp wonton; bacalao fritters; and sweet potato fries.
There is also a good selection of alcoholic coffees including a Strong Jamaican with coffee brandy and light rum; a Keoke Coffee with Hennessy; a Rustic Coffee with Ballantine's Whisky and Drambuie; and a Black Gold with hazelnut liqueur and Amaretto.
Jaa Kitchen is open for lunch Monday to Saturdays from 11.45am to 3pm and dinner is served from 6.30pm with last orders at 10.45pm. There is also Sunday brunch available from 11am to 4pm.
