Celebrity French chef Pierre Gagnaire will be in Hong Kong to launch his autumn menu his eponymous restaurant Pierre at the Mandarin Oriental in early September.

Gagnaire will be cooking an eight-course tasting menu from September 3 to 15 for both lunch and dinner. Highlights of the menu include:

- red mullet poached in crab bisque flavoured with mild curry

- grilled line-caught sea bass with squid ink gnocchi in a red pepper soup

- breast of Bresse farm hen stuffed with foie gras with beetroot sorbet

The tasting menu is priced at HK$1,688 per head.

Tsui Hang Village at the Miramar Shopping Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui finally re-opens as it finds a new location within the mall. With a new contemporary look, the Cantonese restaurant also introduces its new chef, Chan Lap Sun, along with an array of new dishes.

The Cantonese restaurant, famed for its traditional dishes, introduces their newest creations such as baked chicken with preserved vegetables, shredded pork and mushroom wrapped in lotus leaves; fried king prawns in mango sauce topped with caviar; fried scallops in salted egg yolk; and also the award-winning fried rice with conpoy, dried fish and roast duck meat. Diners can now enjoy a new spacious setting with the stunning view of Kowloon Park while they indulge in the tempting dishes by chef Chan.

Following the success of last year, Hongkong Land's summer food campaign "Taste Matters" is back this year to give shoppers in Central a feast for their eyes. One of the highlights of the campaign includes the photo exhibition of internationally renowned photographer Ryan Matthew Smith. Acclaimed for his work on modernist cuisine, Smith plays with the freshness of seasonal summer ingredients with his camera. Through bringing their tactile textures and vibrant colours in focus, audiences will have different visual perspective towards a great feast. The photo exhibition will be displayed along the Chater Bridge and East Bridge of the Hongkong Land complex until August 14.

Frites, the popular Belgian beer and mussels restaurant in Central and Quarry Bay, has opened its third outlet in Wan Chai. Located on Harbour Road near the Wan Chai Star Ferry pier, the new beer house seats up to 120 with outside seating also available. The menu will be familiar to those who already frequent their older branches and the new Wan Chai outlet is expected to open on August 23.
