Shore Steak Settles Steak Debate
Is dry aged rib-eye better than wet-aged? Is striploin from one hemisphere juicer than the other? Shore Steak in Central lets you be the judge |
Be it tenderloin, rib-eye or striploin, steak lovers often have their own fastidious preference, ranging from feed to origin. The debate over what makes the best steak can go on for weeks, if not longer. Shore Steak, a steak specialist in Central, hears the debates and is committed to bringing an end to them.
For three consecutive fortnights, Shore Steak will be serving three pairs of steak under three different themes – grass-fed and grain-fed; dry aged and wet aged; and cattle from either hemispheres. After trying comparative steaks on a wooden board, guests will be able to share tasting notes in the most candid fashion, and settle the debate once and for all.
February 13 – February 26 Grass-fed vs. grain-fed tenderloin
February 27 – March 11 Dry-aged vs. wet-aged rib-eye
March 12 – March 25 Northern hemisphere vs. southern hemisphere striploin
For reservations, please call +852 2915-1638.

Teakha Opens
A new tea shop opens in Sheung Wan |
Currently in soft-opening, Teakha is a tea house, café and "zakka" (a Japanese term meaning roughly a store that sells trinkets for the home) store in Sheung Wan, hence the seemingly random bicycle parked out front. Opened by blogger Nana Chan, every detail is meant to give out a happy, simple and cheerful vibe, including a special range of tableware that was created in collaboration with Beijing ceramics designer Cui Rui.
Teakha serves breakfast and brunch in the mornings and sandwiches (with bread from Bo-lo'gne Bakery) and scones throughout the day, using mainly organic produce sourced from around Asia. The café also serves masala chai, Hong Kong-style milk tea, lattes with Hokkaido black sugar, Taiwanese jujube milk teas, as well as teas from Morocco and Darjeeling. In order to live the sustainable, happy lifestyle it promotes, ten percent of each month's profits are given to charity.
Teakha is open from 11am-6pm Monday to Fridays, and from noon to 7pm on weekends.
