Located just to the right of the main lobby entrance of the majestic Mandarin Oriental hotel, the Captain’s Bar is not unlike a posh yet friendly neighbourhood pub. With its red leather seats and red carpeting, the atmosphere is luxurious and soothing, as if nothing terrible (apart from whatever disaster your football team might be committing on the TV screens overhead) could ever happen here. The bar is especially popular with men in suits, relaxing with a beer or an Old Fashioned after work, with ties slightly loosened and voices slightly louder than two hours earlier.
